Coordinator of this Quilt Block Drive is Joan: Joaniwilson2@aol.com
The Yahoo group this is associated with is:

For those of you who missed the guidelines for Pete's Quilt, I'll briefly repeat it. Members of this group (and anyone else, for that matter) will embroider a basket on a 7 inch square of 100% white cotton fabric and send the blocks to me. I'll assemble the blocks into a quilt with the batting and backing. Then (please volunteer), someone will quilt it by machine and another volunteer will add the binding.
We'll auction/raffle the quilt with proceeds going towards Pete's medical expenses.
My thought is that if there are enough blocks, I'll make more than one quilt approximately 60 inches by 72 inches - somewhere around that size.
Guidelines:
Fabric for the 7" square - white, 100% cotton, pre-washed.
The design area of the 7" block should be no larger than 5-1/2 inches square. I'll trim the blocks to 6-1/2 inches square before assembly. I'm going use navy blue and burgundy fabrics in the quilt. I have several ideas in my head right now.
Thread and embellishing. Feel free to use metallic threads and beads or any other kind of embellishment. If we have enough quilt blocks, I'll make one quilt without embellishments (so it can be washed), and another with all the "goodies"! The quilt with embellishments will have a rod pocket so it can be displayed in someone's home.
Mail your blocks to me by July 4.
Quilt top will be assembled by September 30 (my birthday!) and sent to volunteer who will quilt it by October 30 and mail it to volunteer to bind by November 30 and mail to Debbie. Debbie will display quilt on her website.
